The Malta Council for Science and Technology (MCST) is a body established with the mandate of advising the government on science and technology policy.

Earlier this month, InnoTecUK was in Malta training on a project management programme organised by MCST. With over 40 participants in attendance, the event aimed to offer guidance to research and innovation organisations or individuals interested in obtaining and managing a research and innovation funded project.

InnoTecUK was at the TÜBİTAK CoCirculation2 project conference in Ankara, Turkey; speaking to near 300 distinguished researchers and representatives of research performing institutions. Whilst at the conference, our Consultant, Katia Insogna, provided expert training on ‘How to write an effective individual proposal’.

The Scope of CoCirculation2 Project:

Having secured funding for a CoCirculation2 Project Proposal submitted in 2017, the TÜBİTAK EU Framework Programmes National Coordination Office and its project seek to achieve the following:

CoCirculation2 seeks to further the career potential and perspectives of researchers in academy and industry for 100 post-docs coming from all over the world while enhancing their international networking and interdisciplinary skills.

It is anticipated that, experienced researchers awarded funding under this scheme will to receive €5050 monthly salary and €800 monthly research, training and networking allowance.

The first call for proposals under this scheme will take place between 1 August – 30 October 2018. 

The Eligibility Criteria:

Researchers must be experienced with a PHD or at least 4 years’ research experience, non-residing in Turkey for more than 12 months in the three years immediately before the relevant call deadline for submission of proposals to be eligible for this funding More here.

We are thankful to the team at the organisers (TÜBİTAK in Ankara, Turkey) for inviting us.

We are very pleased to announce that our participation at the EURAXESS ‘Info Days’ and Marie Curie workshops in Singapore and Thailand was very successful, with a total of more than 600 participants in attendance at 6 different locations and events.

Our Trainer, Katia Insogna, participated as main speaker at the 2 Info Days on European Funding opportunities for Asian Researchers and Research Organisations held in Singapore and Bangkok, presenting the opportunities granted to Third Countries by the Marie S. Curie Action programme (MSCA), with a focus on post-doc grants.

Our expert also managed 4 different full-day interactive workshops on the MSCA programme, introducing the Individual fellowships (IF) and International Staff Exchange Scheme (RISE) calls.

An analysis of the evaluation forms received from the training sessions shows an excellent performance by our Trainer with some participants stating, among others:

Following our attendance at the ‘Horizon 2020 IN BELARUS 2018 WEEK’, we are pleased to announce that through our Head of Training and Consultancy Services, Katia Insogna, our contribution to this 3 day event resulted in a great number of attendees showing their interest in receiving further training and guidance from us.

Whilst in Belarus, Katia offered training  to over 200 people on Marie S. Curie Action RISE Grants, with deadline 21st March 2018, ERC Grants and on Horizon 2020 proposal development (RIA, IA Funding scheme).

We are also delighted to share with you the feedback received from the trainees who all seemed very satisfied with the training they received and over 90% of them stressed on recommending our training session.

The event organised in collaboration with the European Commission in the framework of the INCO-NET project EaP Plus,  is set to bring together over 250 participants from Europe Member States (MS) and Associated Countries (AC) as well as Eastern Europe Third Countries (EaP).

The week comprises of a series of events which seek to inform people interested in the contents of the Horizon 2020 Themes and funding schemes on how to improve their participation in European Research and Innovation Funding Programmes.

Representing InnoTec-TCS at the ‘HORIZON 2020 WEEK IN BELARUS’ (Minsk, 20-23 February 2018) is our Head of ‘Training and Consultancy Services’ Katia Insogna.

Katia Insogna will be:

  • Giving a speech at the ‘Info Day’ on opportunities for Third Country researchers and organisations with the ERC grants
  • The principal trainer for Marie Curie RISE grants parallel session.
  • The principal trainer for the “Train the Trainers” event aimed at NCPs from EaP countries on RIA/IA project development
